How to prepare for a job interview with Big Blue

Welcome! Firstly, thanks in advance for giving us your time. We know you are busy. We appreciate this opportunity to speak with you.

Big Blue job interviews start with a short, freeform discussion. You relax, we relax. Then we move to focused discussion areas.

Below is guidance to help you prepare:

  • The interview will be 30-40 minutes
  • We offer the options of a video or an in-person interview
  • If the interview is on video: Be in a quiet, well-lit area with a reliable Internet connection
  • Be ready to tell us about your interest in the role and culture at Big Blue
  • Be ready to talk us through the main points in your CV
  • Be ready to share projects, portfolios, and other materials on your screen if needed
  • Prepare 2 case studies of your work
  • Feel free to ask questions

Our team shares interview discussion areas with job candidates before interviews. We do this so you have time to prepare a core set of ideas to discuss.

We may also share additional questions with you over email before the interview.

Below is a list of potential discussion areas. This is adaptable and not exhaustive.

  • Tell us about some of your life missions
  • Read this blog post before the interview: 33 points to know about Big Blue’s culture. What do you think? Do any points particularly resonate with you? If so, which ones?
  • Tell us about a favorite project, what you did, and the feedback that you received
  • Tell us about a big idea that you developed and implemented at a previous place of work or study
  • Tell us what you could do with us in your first 30 days and 90 days
  • We are very interested in working with individuals who can think in terms of systems. Tell us about systems that you have created and can create
  • We hope that everyone on our team can be a leader in their own unique ways. What leadership can you bring to our team?

Once again, thank you for your time. We really appreciate it.
