Big result

Big Blue’s team captured footage, photos and interviews in Cambodia and Laos to produce a 6-minute film for the Independent Evaluation Office of the Global Environment Facility (IEO GEF).

Story

Big Blue had partnered with Landell Mills, a UK-based monitoring and evaluation consultancy, to help them conduct an evaluation of the GEF projects implemented in the Mekong region over the past couple of decades. The evaluation aimed to identify successful projects, challenges faced, and reasons behind their success.

As a part of the evaluation, GEF set up focus group discussions with beneficiary communities, and interviews with local villagers, provincial officers, and project leaders to gather information. Throughout the process, Big Blue’s team was present to capture footage, images, and interviews for the production of the film.

Approach

Big Blue’s team captured remarkable footage on the GEF project sites in Cambodia and Laos, including drone shots of river regions, wildlife, and the communities surrounding the Mekong. We developed and delivered a powerful film evaluating the effectiveness of GEF projects in the Mekong River region, showcasing their impact and potential for improvement.

Results

The final film will be published alongside the GEF’s 7th Overall Performance Report (OPS7) and presented to the GEF General Assembly.
