In Botswana, paper waste and recycling are gaining in popularity, but the pace is neither impactful nor fast enough. We worked with UNDP Botswana to produce 2 high-visibility animations highlighting these issues.

Story
Inefficient disposal of waste along with inefficient management in Botswana results in blocked drains, littered city ways, sick livestock, and more. To ensure that messages about recycling were widespread, UNDP Botswana contracted Big Blue to develop 2 animations focusing on paper waste management and circular economies.
Approach
Big Blue developed a script, storyboards, and concept art visuals. Once these were approved, we produced several drafts of the video before arriving at the finished products. We worked with local voice talent from Botswana to narrate the videos.
Results
The government of Botswana continues to produce recycling awareness campaigns, to host events and educate and inform about recycling and circular economy best practices.
