Story

Following Bangladesh’s establishment as an independent nation in 1971, the Netherlands was one of the very first countries to open diplomatic relations with Bangladesh.

50 years on, the two nations have much to share with one another, and much to learn. The Embassy decided they needed high-visibility, high-impact communications collaterals and a digital strategy to sufficiently cover this relationship, to coincide with the arrival of a new Dutch ambassador with new strategies.

Approach

Big Blue was privileged to be elected as the Embassy’s communications partner to document a year of excellence.

This included the creation of unique 50-year branding for the Embassy which encompassed design aesthetics from the Netherlands and Bangladesh, a digital communications strategy, content writing for social media, and the creation of several high-quality videos capturing the legacy of key Bangladeshi-Dutch ventures.

The videos covered important topics such as the Char Development and Settlement Project Phase I, learnings from 12 years of SRHR advocacy in Bangladesh, and coverage of the Embassy’s role in the Bangladesh Delta Plan Conference, a major regional conference on the future of Bangladesh’s climate, environment, economy and other cross-linking issues. It also included the creation of 9 testimonial interviews with prominent Bangladesh-based figures with strong ties to the Netherlands through business and personal connection
