Usability and visibility of Safe Online Research

Big results

Big Blue created a project workshop that educated people on sexual exploitation of children and online grooming.

Story

UNICEF Safe Online was a combined effort of different organisations to help tackle the issue of online child grooming. UNICEF works to make the internet a safe place for children to learn, socialize and express themselves.

Approach

Big Blue helped to create informative training materials such as Google slide decks and a toolkit that the grantees could use to approach data firms for valuable online data on predators. This was so that they could track logs where children may be being groomed by adults in online chat rooms.

Results

One of the key outcomes of this project is the Workshop presented to the tech companies. Another key outcome was the multiple slide decks that Big Blue curated for each grantee to use to approach data firms for online data about predators. Additionally, Big Blue created social media videos of the grantees answering different questions about the project. Big Blue also created a draft version of a ‘how to’ toolkit that aims to teach grantees how to identify stakeholders in their sector.
