Story
Suchana: Ending the cycle of undernutrition in Bangladesh is a multi-sectoral nutrition programme which aims to reduce chronic undernutrition leading to stunting among children under two years of age in 235,500 poor and very poor households in the Sylhet and Moulvibazar districts of Bangladesh. The programme adopts an integrated approach to nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions and generates a sustainable and replicable model that can be scaled.
Suchana is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and the EU, and is implemented by a consortium of 8 different development organisations and research agencies: Center for Natural Resource Studies (CNRS), Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), Helen Keller International, icddr,b, iDE, Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service (RDRS), Save the Children, and WorldFish. The consortium is led by Save the Children.

Approach
Big Blue worked with Suchana to first understand all of the different partners and their intervention areas. We then researched beneficiaries for Graduation Stories, along with identifying key areas we should travel for capturing field interviews and photography. All interview contents were translated into English and case stories were written about several beneficiaries and programme interventions. In the closing stages of the project, we developed the Suchana communications strategy and a Trainer of trainers workshop manual.
Results
Big Blue delivered several products for Suchana, including:
• Communications strategy
• Training of trainers manual
• A 200+ digital photo album of Suchana activities
• 50+ designed publications including field interviews, translation, photography, and layout
Suchana received funding to continue its project beyond the pilot period, and continues to tackle undernutrition in the north of Bangladesh.
