Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality artwork for design and animation projects including, but not limited to: vector characters, objects and scenery assets for animators; creative illustrations for reports and publications; storyboards; sketch art; concept art; moodboards for client presentations; and digital platforms like social media and websites
• Work in a blend of tools which Big Blue currently utilises including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and After Effects
• Collaborate with a full-service team which includes producers, line managers, designers, writers, content creators, animators to meet project objectives
• Maintain an organised workflow and meet project deadlines
• Contribute wherever requested to meet project goals
• Contribute to project and in-house team strategy
• Contribute to teaching and upskilling additional Big Blue teammates in your craft to meet project aims
• Incorporate feedback from clients to schedule

Requirements/Experience

• Excellent understanding of colour theory, composition, and visual storytelling
• Ability to create both digital and traditional illustrations as required
• Knowledge of vector graphics, typography, and design principles
• Previous experience working in a creative team environment or as an illustrator
• Previous experience with animation, motion graphics and video editing is a bonus
• Ability to follow branding guidelines
• Ability to manage and prioritise projects effectively and to meet deadlines
• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously
• High proficiency in a mix of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Final Cut and Premiere Pro
• English language fluency
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
• Effective communication skills to understand and interpret client/ project requirements
• A degree or certification in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory)

Ideal candidates

• Digital all-rounder who can switch easily between platforms like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, After effects, etc.
• You are already highly proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator for layering vector characters for animation and you understand animation motion theory and work flows
• Interested in developing their career an illustrator with us in the longer term
• You are a communicator. You are comfortable collaborating frequently with a team of people

Terms

• 2-year contract to start
• Hybrid work-flow after 6 months. New candidates attend office full-time for the first 6 months
• To start as soon as possible
• Sunday-Thursday work schedule
• 2 Eid bonuses each of 50% monthly salary paid after 6 months
