Digital Communications Specialist
Big Blue seeks a capable digital communications specialist. Contribute to research, copy writing and copy editing in a wide variety of applications which includes press releases, social media, reports, e-learning courses and company websites. You will lend your skills to creative projects which include animation scripts, social media campaigns, e-learning courses and capacity building initiatives for grassroots NGOs and aspiring development organisations.
You will conduct field visits with film crews, photographers and researchers to interview beneficiaries and collect data. You will interpret these materials and craft informative, compelling narratives and reports.
You will also manage social media accounts and social media strategy for several clients, including managing a budget for boosting ads.
Internally, you will coordinate with our team which includes expert artists, animators, editors and producers. You will play a prominent role in projects, corresponding with clients and moving projects to successful completion. You will contribute to team strategy and help to build our company’s knowledge management for the long term.
Higher education graduates with skills and experience in a relevant field are preferred. Your CV should include proof of published writing and expertise in social media strategy and associated skillsets. Your written and spoken English and Bangla must be excellent. Previous experience in the development sector is a definite bonus, but not required.
Role
You will have 5+ years of experience in journalism, publication management, or marketing.
You enjoy writing and editing. You write flawlessly, help others improve their writing, and want to change minds and behaviours with written language.
You have a writing and editing portfolio that includes published reports, articles, technical documentation, website content, and social media content.

Responsibilities
Digital engagement strategy
- Produce powerful digital strategies and campaigns that lead to engagement, behaviour change, downloads, and views
- Maximise impact of digital content, including web and social content, publications, video, animation, and newsletters
- Manage social media accounts and related ads, insights and analytics reporting
- Lead production of web and social content in collaboration with Big Blue experts
Content writing - Coordinate editorial and review processes
- Lead research, writing, editing, proofreading, and delivery of content
- Strategise, plan, write, edit, and publish content for social media accounts
- Produce powerful content that includes case studies, film scripts, slide presentations, reports, and web and social media content
- Edit and proofread all documentation, including large reports
Business and projects - Seek opportunities for Big Blue’s team to support positive impact projects
- Communicate with clients and represent Big Blue to highest standards of professionalism
- Manage project timelines, work plans, deliverables, and client communication
- Coordinate projects, including client engagement, calendar management, submission of deliverables, and coordination with Big Blue technical experts
- Prepare expressions of interest, proposals and presentations for project opportunities
Requirements
- Clear, defined, and mature writing voice
- Publishing experience, with ability to manage all research, writing, and editing processes for publications, annual reports, reports, and policy briefs
- Absolute attention to detail, with ability to independently edit language, tone, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Very strong English writing and presentation skills, and ability to edit, proofread, and support client’s and colleague’s content production
- Strong commitment to plain language principles, with the ability to convert technical content into clear, accessible language that engages non-technical audiences
- Portfolio of high-impact publications, digital campaigns, and web and social content
- Undergraduate degree in journalism, communications, public relations, English language, English literature or marketing
- 5+ years of experience in journalism, publication management, writing consulting, and/ or editing consulting
- Strong interpersonal, creativity, and communication skills
- Proficiency in the digital media landscape
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset
