Role

This role will support our business development. Supported by our international team (Dhaka, Kuala Lumpur, London), this role will help us to nurture relationships and win new projects in the fields of digital strategy, user-centred design, online learning, and digital storytelling.

The role will communicate with client and prospective clients to develop revenue and relationships. This role is ideal for a business developer with several years of experience in creating financial success for digital or creative teams.

Employment type

  • Initial 2-year contract to be extended based on performance (6-month review period)

Responsibilities

  • Win contracts with NGOs, trusts, foundations, universities, research organisations, and donor agencies
  • Win new contracts in the following areas: digital communications, content writing, e-learning course development, research, design, graphics, website and app design and development, and animation
  • Lead expressions of interest, proposals, pitch meetings, negotiations, and communication with prospective, new, and existing clients
  • Win long-term retainer contracts
  • Advise Big Blue directors in business development strategy and tactics
  • Lead specific customer accounts
  • Develop our voice, marketing propositions, and sales pitches
  • Draft and present reports on all sales activities
  • Manage project pipeline of opportunities in South Asia, Asia Pacific, and Europe
  • Convert existing contracts into larger, longer-term contracts
  • Act as ambassador, champion, and cheerleader for Big Blue, promoting our values, culture, team, and reputation to prospective and existing clients
  • Be a trusted advisor to our clients, recommending ways for our team to fulfil their upcoming needs

Requirements

  • 6-10+ years of experience in a business development role
  • Ability to communicate and win business at consultancies, universities, trusts, foundations, and other international development players in Asia Pacific
  • Outstanding prospecting skills, including emails, phone discussions, face-to-face discussions, cold calls, and social media
  • Outstanding diplomacy, influencing, interpersonal, negotiation, people management, and empathic communication skills, with ability to diplomatically resolve issues and conflicts
  • University degree related to business management, international development, or marketing/ communications
  • Evidence of successful achievement of annual sales targets
