Story
Bangladesh is extremely vulnerable to the effects of climate change. The new national policies of Bangladesh outline the need to develop climate-sensitive programmes to protect its citizens and communities. But accessing the climate data is often a challenge as sources are scattered.
This climate change inventory, which is available in both Bangla and English, includes Bangladesh’s available climate data and climate risk information. It aims to bridge the gap between climate change data and those looking for them by gathering all available data sources into one place.
Approach
For the inventory brochure, we thoroughly researched the brand, and the tone of the publication, and produced a brochure with a reader-friendly design, complete with uniquely designed icons that represent different government agencies in Bangladesh.
To help GIZ promote the brochure, we also developed an animation that introduces the inventory and showcases the struggles of those affected by climate change, as well as the struggles climate researchers and practitioners face.
Results
As a result of the publication’s release, users ranging from municipal stakeholders to government officials as well practitioners are able to access the numerous platforms mentioned in the brochure and quickly locate data related to climate change.
