Partner: InnoVet

Big results

Big Blue crafted the visual identity and foundational design framework for the InnoVet-AMR Platform, an initiative supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). Big Blue’s work established the visual and structural groundwork for the platform, upon which its development long-term utility as a collaborative digital hub for multiple working groups could be carried out.

Story

Big Blue was engaged by the IDRC following the model of the earlier Aquadapt platform to dictate the visual identity, interface design, and other elements of the InnoVet-AMR project which would ensure both functionality and visual cogency across the platform’s many disparate sections. The initial stages of Big Blue’s involvement focused on crafting group-specific visual assets and layout elements which reflect the platform’s commitment towards inclusivity, aquaculture, and gender equity.

Approach

Big Blue worked closely with the IDRC to hone in on the platform’s scope, structure, and design needs. Building on the Aquadapt framework, Big Blue produced mockups for banners, icons, and group visuals which would form the basis of the platform’s visual identity. The design work was iterative, in keeping with client feedback, and refined details such as imagery, colour, tone, and logo placement in alignment with the IDRC’s own visual standards and practices.

Big Blue’s work on the design process emphasized clarity and accessibility without compromising on thematic relevance. Further adjustments were made to highlight gender dynamics in relation to aquaculture, curate the use of specific colour palettes, and maintain consistency in incorporating approved institutional iconography across all materials.

Results

Big Blue’s work on the finalized banners and icons received strong client approval, being confirmed as the official visual assets for the InnoVet-AMR Platform. A cohesive and adaptable design system that supports the platform’s collaborative purpose and thematic essentials was also established. Built on a strong visual and structural foundation, the project is now ready to advance into its next stage.
