Big results

Big Blue provided the Civil Society Financing for Development (CS FfD) Mechanism with end-to-end communications, branding, and documentation support for its participation in the 4th UN Financing for Development (FfD) Conference in Seville, Spain. Through Big Blue’s support, the Mechanism was able to engage as a unified collective, buoyed by a cohesive visual identity and an integrated communications strategy, to amplify civil society voices on a global scale.

Story

Big Blue’s expertise was sought by the Civil Society Financing for Development Mechanism (CS FfD) ahead of the FfD4 Conference to develop a comprehensive branding framework that would position civil society as a consolidated and influential actor within the discourse on global financing for development. From pre-conference advocacy to live coverage and post-event legacy documentation, the goal was to ensure consistent, visible, and impactful presence across every touchpoint, enabling civil society messages to reach delegates, policymakers, and the wider public.

Approach

Big Blue designed and implemented a three-phase strategy which involved meticulous preparation, live event coverage, and post-conference storytelling. Big Blue formulated a new visual identity and messaging toolkit which would establish a cohesive brand and communication outlook for the Civil Society Forum months in advance of the event. Alongside this, a media training workshop which sought to strengthen the team’s capacity in handling press engagement and crisis communications had also been delivered.

Big Blue provided on-the-ground support through real-time videography, photography, and live updates across various digital platforms during the Seville conference. Daily highlight videos, interviews, and social media posts which captured key moments further amplified advocacy communications to a global audience. Big Blue further produced a legacy storytelling video and an impact report which documented the collective’s presence, reach, and outcomes following the event, creating a lasting record of the civil society’s contributions to FfD4.

Results

Collaborating with Big Blue enabled the Civil Society Financing for Development Mechanism (CS FfD) to achieve a higher status at a major UN conference owing to a newfound unified and professional voice. A cohesive visual identity and carefully considered communications effort magnified the visibility of civil society perspectives and bolstered engagement with media, delegates, and partners at the same time. The final outputs — video products, an impact report, and a digital archive — did more than just capture the energy and achievements of the conference, they also created a lasting foundation for future advocacy and institutional legacy.
