Becoming CARA's Swiss Army Knife

Partner: Triple Line

Big results

The Big Blue-developed official website for Climate Action for a Resilient Asia (CARA) acts as a central platform that brings together projects, partners, and knowledge in order to achieve its project goals. The knowledge products drafted and designed by Big Blue, disseminated at conferences and international events, provided vital programmatic information to the public, who left with a greater understanding of how CARA is helping drive climate action across the Indo-Pacific.

Story

CARA is the UK’s flagship programme supporting locally led adaptation and climate resilience across the Indo-Pacific. To strengthen its reach and impact, the programme needed a dedicated website to showcase its work, share resources, and connect with stakeholders both within and beyond the region. The programme also required bespoke knowledge products which accurately captured the programmatic minutiae of its many components.

Approach

Big Blue led the full website development process, from planning and wireframing to design, build, and deployment. We designed the site to highlight CARA’s seven programme components, with interactive maps that allow visitors to explore projects across the region. A user-friendly structure supports access to key resources and knowledge products. Alongside the website, we developed a full branding kit to ensure a consistent and recognisable look across all of CARA’s communications. When it came to the knowledge products, Big Blue conducted thorough research into the programme using the exhaustive documentation provided to us, and suggested how they can be best presented as supplementary material, deciding on the development of infographics-heavy two-to-four page flyers as the best vehicle.

Results

The CARA website serves as a go-to platform for partners, policymakers, and practitioners, providing access to the latest insights, tools, and updates on climate resilience efforts across the Indo-Pacific. The design and structure support both visibility and usability, positioning CARA as a leading voice in climate adaptation. The knowledge products on the other hand serve as visually engaging knowledge products which can bring everyone from practitioners to laypersons up to date on CARA’s impact across the Indo-Pacific.
