Big Blue Communications partnered with the World Bank’s Extractives Global Programmatic Support (EGPS) team to deliver a full suite of professional video content, not limited to interviews, event recaps, and a comprehensive explainer in the form of an animation. Story

Big Blue was engaged by the World Bank’s Extractives Unit to provide them with creative and technical production support for a series of video and animation content under the organization’s EGPS initiative. The objective of this partnership was to amplify visibility of the World Bank’s operations in responsible, sustainable artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM), while upholding the institution’s established brand identity. The scope of the partnership involved the production of well-edited live-action video content and the creation of an animated explainer to simplify complex development concepts for a broad audience.

Approach

Big Blue worked closely with the World Bank’s Extractives Unit at every stage of production — from concept development all the way to final delivery. The process involved refining scripts at the initial stage and determining the visual direction using detailed storyboards and reference frames. Big Blue then produced a series of well-edited videos for internal and external communications — these included interviews, event recaps, and partnership features.

Big Blue developed a complete creative package for the animated explainer, which included illustration, animation, and music production, complemented by a carefully curated voiceover in alignment with the World Bank’s requirements. Close coordination with the client at every stage ensured that all creative elements — from tone and pacing to graphic style — reflected the World Bank’s branding and the motifs of the EGPS initiative.
