Big Blue helped the USAID-funded Kaizen Company’s the Partnerships Incubator to produce 90 episodes of a flagship microcast: “Chief of Party to Chief of Party: Success in Your First 90 Days”.

Story

The Partnerships Incubator exists to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises around the world to work with USAID. As a way of preserving knowledge for upcoming Chiefs of Party within USAID, the Incubator’s project director, Dr. Donna Vincent Roa, recorded 90 self-scripted episodes of a microcast—an “audio toolkit” for incoming chiefs’ first 90 days. Big Blue edited the audio for each episode, offered advise on the microcast’s communications strategy and helped to copy edit the episode transcripts. We also produced several promotional videos for the microcast series to be aired on the Incubator’s social media platforms, and produced the video thumbnail graphics for each episode. Additionally, we assisted with production of transcripts for the episodes in French, Spanish and Arabic.

Approach

Big Blue first reviewed the communications strategy for the microcast. We then received all of the unedited microcasts in a cloud directory and edited each episode. We added a template intro and outro “sting” recorded by an external narrator to each file, and exported and uploaded the episodes to the Incubator’s Buzzsprout account. Separately, a design team produced 180 Canva tiles for the microcast for use on YouTube and social media platforms to a template provided by the Incubator. In the closing stages of the project, Big Blue supported the Incubator with quality checking and uploading of transcripts in additional languages to Buzzsprout.
