Big results

Big Blue produced a designed report and a flagship infographic for a major study conducted by Laudes Foundation into the level of transparency in Bangladesh’s apparel sector.

Story

A Laudes-commissioned study into transparency in the apparel industry in Bangladesh reveals that while local and global initiatives are making progress, brands, manufacturers and workers are facing significant barriers to achieving more transparency in their sectors.

The report, entitled ‘Transparency Assessment: Examining the transparency journey for the Bangladesh apparel sector’, ties into Laudes Foundation’s global strategy to find solutions to deeply rooted issues in the apparel industry. It examines the initiatives that have been introduced to improve transparency and provide incentives for brands and manufacturers to demonstrate greater accountability. A key aspect of the report is a continuum diagram showing the barriers each stakeholder – workers, manufacturers and brands — faces in embracing transparency.

Approach

Big Blue helped Laudes Foundation to streamline their research findings into a short, highly impactful and visual-heavy report. This assignment also included the creation of a flagship infographic that could be used as a stand-alone visual in Laudes’ presentations and online advocacy efforts to raise awareness of the study.

Big Blue developed original artwork and iconography, and took Laudes through several revision rounds before arriving at the finished output.

Results

At the time of this report’s inception, the Rana Plaza factory collapse and similar catastrophes such as the Tazreen Fashions fire were still relevant. Safe working conditions for Bangladesh’s factory workers remains a priority in Bangladesh, and Big Blue continues to support Laudes Foundation and associated partners to achieve fair and more equitable terms for factory workers here and abroad through the development of products like reports, presentation materials and videos.
